The CHRISTIAN CONGREGATION is a religious community entirely founded on the apostolic doctrine and Faith contained in the New Testament of the Holy Bible.
* * * HISTORY* * *
The CHRISTIAN CONGREGATION originates from a small group of Italian evangelicals who, in the city of Chicago in the United States of America, in 1904, began to gather in their homes, seeking the Divine guide to follow the biblical Christian teachings, within the simplicity of the Apostolic Faith.
To this group, devoid of any denomination and without any propaganda or special form of communication, many other people were added, feeling moved by God. In the same way, groups imbued with the same feelings and understanding of the Word of God were formed in several countries.
With the increase in the number of people professing the same principles of worship to God and there were no particular places where it was possible to meet, it was necessary to acquire places for this purpose, and there was, from then on, the need to create an institution with legal personality to be able to legalize the meetings and securitize the ownership of these properties and, therefore, this entity was called the “CHRISTIAN CONGREGATION“, that is, a simple gathering of people, without any formalism or personalism, only imbued with the same Christian spiritual values of worship to God.
* * * CLARIFICATION* * *
Revenues from its members must come from voluntary and anonymous offers, whose values must be applied in full to the purposes for which they were offered, and any mandatory nature of their provision or link with the integration or permanence of members is prohibited.
The exerciser of any spiritual or administrative position must be maintained through his own work or means, since any kind of remuneration or retribution for the exercise of these activities or for the administration of spiritual services or sacraments is prohibited.
The CHRISTIAN CONGREGATION has no link with political parties or ideologies and the members of spiritual positions, or administration, must refrain from accepting political positions or charges, being incompatible the concomitant exercise of functions in both spheres (position or political charge and spiritual or administrative function in the church). It is recommended that members fulfill the civic duties of citizens, according to the laws of the country.
The members of the Ministry (Elders, Deacons and Cooperators) and the Administration of the CHRISTIAN CONGREGATION do not maintain a “website” or any other type of communication aimed at attending to spiritual issues or even clarifications of points of doctrine or principles of Faith.
The CHRISTIAN CONGREGATION does not make any kind of propaganda of its doctrine, nor does it use any means of public dissemination of its principles of faith. Those who have a spiritual interest in knowing their doctrine should attend their services in any of their churches.
The CHRISTIAN CONGREGATION IN GREECE is of the same faith and doctrine as the other congregations in other countries, such as Congregação Cristã no Brasil, Congregação Cristã na Espanha, Congregação Cristã na Alemanha, Congregação Cristã no Reino Unido, Congregação Cristã nos Estados Unidos, Congregação Cristã na França, Congregação Cristã na Itália, Congregação Cristã em Portugal, Congregação Cristã na Suíça. And other parts of the world where it is represented.
